Migrant Champions Network iftar

On 23 March 2025, members of the Migrant Champions Network came together for an iftar - the evening meal to break the fast in Ramadan - and to strategise for the struggles to come.

The policies and rhetoric affecting people who move are so toxic, with our communities facing ever tougher challenges. But that doesn’t mean it’s time to give in - in fact, it means there’s never been a better time to get stuck into the fight.

There’s so much that local councillors can do to resist anti-migrant policies, both locally and nationally. As spring takes hold, this cross-party group of councillors was full of energy and ideas about how we work together to resist the far right in our communities, support migrant residents and organise for change. So be sure to watch this space!

Are you a local councillor advocating for the rights of migrant residents? It can be tough work, but the Migrant Champions Network is here to support you.

Get in touch to see how we can help, and join our dynamic, cross-party network.
